As many know, I have a contract to provide public defense for Garfield County. One of my pet peeves is when people assume that just because they have a public defender they will not get adequate legal representation. I strive to provide all my clients, private and public alike, with the same representation and diligent defense. I take this job very seriously. I can appreciate many of the sentiments expressed in this article because the caseload and pay does make it difficult to make sure all citizens receive the adequate representation they are guaranteed in the Constitution.
