Just something about damascus, magic every time !!! Finally back in the shop, loving how this one is turning out

Been super busy lately but I've made some time in the workshop for Christmas orders. Blacksmith knives seem to be the thing this year so here is a few I've been working on. The steel is 52100 ball bearing steel.

It just occurred to me that I haven't posted anything on here for a little while so here's some of what I've been up to in the shop here lately. It is a "Japanese Gomai" construction skinning knife,which means the blade is 5 layers laminated. The core steel is 432 layer damascus with 15N20 chromium steel right next to it creating the wavy line on the side of the blade contrasted by another layer of 1095 high carbon steel on the outsides of the blade. The handle is whitetail antler with brass fittings and Koa wood spacers.

Ok,with the holidays around the corner it's never too early to start working on that Christmas shopping. Here is a new product I am making available at a super low price. These are premium fire starting ferro rods with beautiful custom wood handles. They are perfect stocking stuffers and excellent to add to your outdoor survival or hunting gear... dimensions are 6 1/2 inches long by 1/2 inch rod diameter, starting price is $25.00 each.

Here's the latest project out of the shop,a bushcraft survival setup. Blade steel is 0-1 tool steel with micarta scales. The molded leather sheith also comes with a custom made ferro rod fire starter.
