In case you haven't heard, RootsTech is going virtual this year and it is free. You need a familysearch.org account to get the full benefit but that is also free. It runs from today, Wednesday February 25th to the 27th... three full days. There will be keynote speakers that will be live during those three days and then there will be literally hundreds of classes that have been taped and will be "on demand". The classes and recorded keynote speakers will be available to v...iew for the next year!!! So, go to RootsTech.org and get registered. Also, if you already have a familysearch.org account you can register from there as well. Also, just for fun, you will see there is a RootsTech "find a relative" feature that will enable you to connect with any cousins that are also attending the virtual conference. This will be a great way to connect with others researching your same families and an opportunity to hear some great presentations. And you can do it all free and safe from home! Enjoy! See more

Our February meeting will be this coming Monday, Feb. 15th at 6:30 p.m. via ZOOM. The link to the meeting will be emailed out to all members. If you are not a member and would like to hear the program, send a PM and I'll send you the link. Our program will be presented by Nathan Turner. He will present "The Land Run of 1889 and the US Land Policy". Nathan Turner is the Regional Director at the Oklahoma Territorial museum in Guthrie, OK. He will explain US Land Policy during and after the removal of native American tribes to present day Oklahoma. Mr. Turner will give information about the removal of over 64 tribes, the Homestead Act of 1862, surveys, allotments, and eventual Oklahoma statehood.
