We are pleased to congratulate our Director of Worship on passing his Provisional Membership recently! Tim began the candidacy process for ordination in the United Methodist Church in 2016 before coming to Edmond First. He recently graduated from Duke Divinity School in 2020 with a degree of Masters in Christian Practice, and passed Dcom in Summer of 2020 to move onto the Board of Ordained Ministry. He will be commissioned a Deacon (and be Rev. Tim) on October 8th at Annual Conference! Following the call of God has led me through many paths to get me to here. I’m excityed to find out how He will lead me in the future, Tim says.

We’re sad for our church but happy for Beverly Turner to announce her retirement after 27 1/2 years serving our church. She deserves accolades for keeping us on track through numerous Bible studies, worship services, church dinners, mission trips, membership changes, building projects, stewardship campaigns and staff changes. When you think about all of the life-changing activities that go on through our church, Beverly has had a hand in it either directly or indirectly. B...everly has served under five different senior ministers during her time here which earns her five gold stars in her crown! Starting with Bob Van House, she then worked with Chuck Nordean, Danny Moss, Bert Potts and Sam Powers, none of whom would have been near as effective without Beverly’s behind-the-scenes efforts. Beverly, we love you and pray for God’s blessings on your family and your life as you enter retirement! See more

This Sunday the 2020 Confirmation Class was Confirmed into the church. These seventh graders spent a whole spring semester learning in small groups about the core elements of Christianity and United Methodist belief. While in Confirmation, they also became leaders in many ways in the youth group and volunteered for multiple service projects. These students have waited an extra year for their confirmation, and we hope you can join us in celebrating their great step of faith!
