Gayle Curry Encaustic Art

First Friday is two days away. Don't miss my exhibit, "It's a New Dawn, It's a New Day." Inspired by Nina Simone's song, Feeling Good. The colorful encaustic monotypes express hope and happiness for a beautiful year.

The bowl has been through the bisque firing. Now to sand off those sharp edges and to glaze. I think I will glaze with SPOD & Trash Can.

Created a new bowl in pottery class yesterday. Stay tuned for glaze photo.

This encaustic monotype is on a rice paper roll. I worked in sections, which allowed me to make a larger piece than normal. I have magnetic holders on either end so that I can hang it like a banner. It’s 15 x 35. This was so much fun to create.
