It was exhausting, but the big studio move is finally finished. From my upstairs lair to a bedroom downstairs, making room for the girls to take over the upstairs rooms. The space is tight but it is sufficient. The view is to the southwest and looks over the pond toward siipiihkwa awiiki, the Drake House, which was our home for the first decade of our marriage. Now, time to get back to work on commissions held up during the move...which took MUCH longer than expected! Too much stuff dating to my time working in an art supply store over 30 years ago and accumulated over the years. This room is a migraine for a minimalist. But it smells wonderful! Oil primed, and raw, Belgian linen canvas and paint. I hope to return to posting new work soon. Happy Saturday to all!

Finished. Amazing what white chalk highlighting can do. This one was very good practice. Think I’ll frame it for my studio. Charles Banks Wilson. Artist. Inspiration. Oklahoma treasure. General’s charcoal and white chalk on gray Stonehenge. #charcoaldrawing #portraitartist #nativeamericanartist

More practice work, not quite finished. An artist hero, the great Charles Banks Wilson. Charcoal on gray Stonehenge. Not my favorite paper, but this is turning out pretty ok. From a photo I found online so it stays in my personal collection.

Been practicing landscapes with these water mixable oils. This one is 12x36. From a photo I found online so this is strictly practice.
