Andrea continued her education at the Career Point Business School in Tulsa in 1992 and the Indian Area Vo Tech in Muskogee in 1995. She married Charles L. Chuck Croan in 2006. Andrea was a member of the Elm and Hudson Church of Christ. Alice Jenelle Akers was born on October 22, 1932, in Cordell, Oklahom...a to Charles T. and Lucille Mayme (Gernert) Akers Schevede. She graduated from high school in Cordell, Oklahoma, and attended Hills Business University in Oklahoma City and Western Oklahoma State College in Altus. Jenelle retired after 27 years of Federal Civil Service, having worked at Clinton-Sherman AFB, Oklahoma (where she met Bob), Barksdale AFB, Louisiana, Altus AFB, Oklahoma and Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio. Jenelle married Robert Bob Harris on August 14, 1969 in Bossier City, Louisiana. She was an Elder in the First Presbyterian Church in Altus, a life member of the Beta Sigma Phi International Sorority, a member of the Gamma Mothers Club, and past board member of both the Shortgrass Arts and Humanities Council in Altus and the Vernon Community Theater. Jenelle also belonged to the Republican Women’s Association and was a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Veterans of Foreign Wars. Richard Stephen Rich Guinan was born on May 6, 1965 in Rochester, New York to John Jack and Dorothy (Beisheim) Guinan. He grew up in Rochester and entered into the US Air Force in 1984. Rich served during many tours. He married Melissa Camp on September 9, 1995 in Erlanger, Kentucky. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in History for Wayland Baptist University. Rich retired from the Air Force in 2007 and was currently working as the Historian at Altus Air Force Base. He was a member of the St. Francis and Prince of Peace Catholic Churches and enjoyed tinkering in his garage. His parents preceded him in death. He passed away on October 28, 2011. Sylvia was a homemaker and a member of the Catholic Church. She enjoyed going to the casino, playing bingo and dancing to her favorite Mexican bands. Troy Brant Drury, 71, Chickasha, passed away on Friday, April 2, 2021 at the Lawton/Fort Sill Veterans Center. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, April 8, 2021 in the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Daniel Ingram officiating. Burial with US Army honors will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Troy Brant Drury was born on April 6, 1949 in Olustee, OK to Troy Laverne and Betty Lou (Billington) Dru...ry. He joined the United States Army in 1967 serving as a crew chief during the Vietnam War and then a flight engineer at Fort Sill. In 1976, he was stationed in Neu-Ulm, Germany serving as a combat engineer. In 1979, he became a recruiter for the US Army, serving as a station commander in Oklahoma City, OK and Shawnee, OK until his retirement in 1987. He received numerous awards for his service including Recruiter of the Year and Station Commander of the Year. Troy had a lifelong love of horses and became a horse trainer and cutter upon his retirement from the US Army. Weekends were spent with a pair of orange cowboy boots and one of his many horses, competing in NCHA and ACHA cuttings. He was funny, smart, a smooth talker, and he loved spending time with his grandkids. He lived a tremendous life, and his humor and endless words of advice will be missed dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Troy and Betty and his brother, Charles Chuck Drury. He is survived by his wife, Kathy, of the home; three children, Brant Drury, Jill Haynes and husband, Dean, and Dewayne Drury; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; his brother, Terry Drury and wife, Diane; his sister, Nyeeta Smith and husband, Darryl; and numerous other nieces and nephews. George Harold Terry, 85, Mangum, passed away in Altus on Tuesday, March 23, 2021. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at the Mangum Riverside Cemetery with Billy Clabaugh officiating. The family will greet friends Monday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Kincannon Funeral Home in Altus. Services are under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Altus. George was born on February 28, 1936 in Elk City, Oklahoma, the son of ...George Washington and Vera Florene (Milton) Terry. He was raised in Greer County, Oklahoma and graduated from Reed High School in 1954. He married Margaret 'Jo' Moss, his wife of 66 years, on October 28, 1954 in Mangum, Oklahoma. George and Jo made their home in Reed and later outside of Mangum. He raised cattle, cotton, wheat, hay and a loving family. He was, truly, a servant of God, spending over 40 years as a deacon and then elder of the Mangum Church of Christ and later serving however he could as a devoted member of the Sayre Church of Christ. He was also on the board of the Reed Water Corporation from its inception in 1969 until his death, and he was very active as an agent and later a delegate for American Farmers & Ranchers. George was a quiet and wise man who loved all, especially children. He loved his grandchildren greatly and enjoyed all the time he got to spend with them. And he was very taken with his new great granddaughter. It brightened his day to receive pictures or videos of her. He was never known to utter a curse word or lose his temper. He was not one to push his views or opinions on others but was ready to offer help to any who asked. He hated to borrow anything but would loan anything he had to neighbors, friends or strangers. He will be missed by all who knew him, but we are sure that God took him into his loving arms and told him to rest from a race well run. He is survived by his wife, Jo, of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Randel and Sharon of Lubbock, TX; daughter-in-law, Leesa of Lawrence, KS; five grandchildren, Sommer of Oklahoma City, OK, Keegan of San Antonio, TX, Russell (Brenna) and great granddaughter Harper of Wichita Falls, TX, Allison of Chicago, IL and Austin of Lubbock, TX; brother, Howard (Carol Anne) of Altus, OK; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Robert Bob Andrew Beers, 99, Altus, passed away at his home on Wednesday, March 24, 2021. A private family graveside service will be officiated by Rev. Jane Vaughn under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Friends may sign the book Thursday afternoon until 8 p.m. and Friday morning at the funeral home. Bob was born on May 24, 1921 in Newark, New Jersey to Cornelius F. and Elsie Belle (Small) Beers. In 1943 Bob married the love of his life, Ge...orgia Inez Block in Clovis, New Mexico. They spent 66 years and 6 days together before her death in 2010. Bob served in the United States Army for five years. He served in WWII, in Africa, before being honorably discharged as a Corporal. Bob applied was accepted in the Oklahoma Highway Patrol in 1953. During his 33 year career he served all over the state and received Trooper of the Year-1964 and the Governors’ Commendation before his retirement in 1986. At the time of his death he was the oldest living patrolman in the state. Bob was an active member of the First United Methodist Church and received several service awards. Bob was highly involved in the community and served on various boards including volunteering for the Oklahoma Veteran’s Hospital in Clinton, Jackson County Memorial Hospital, The Salvation Army, the Altus Lions Club, Retired Troopers Association, VFW, American Legion, DAV, Air Force Association, Kiwanis Clubs, Masons, Shriners, Elks Club, Republican Party, Altus City Council (12 years) and he was a judge for the Main Street Altus Chili Cook-off for twenty years. During his retirement he enjoyed playing dominos; playing golf; volunteering for church activities and events as well as bus tours that he took all over the United States. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Georgia; daughter, Barbara Ann; two grandchildren, Robert A Beers, III and Paty Spurgeon; brother, Frank; and sisters, Gladys Marcella and Doris Collins. He is survived by his sons, Robert A. Timoteo Ramirez was born on June 19, 1945 in Dolores Hidalgo, Guanajuato, Mexico to Timoteo Ramirez and Guadalupe Rivera. He married Mar...ia Esther Ramirez in February of 1980 in Mexico. Timoteo moved to Altus and worked as a farm laborer for most of his life. He was a hard worker and a member of Iglesia Samaria; enjoyed singing, being outdoors and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Altus resident, Betty Jean (Selvey) Marcha, 82, passed away on Tuesday, February 9, 2021. The family will hold a private inurnment at the Altus City Cemetery and a Celebration of her wonderful life will be held 11:00 AM Friday, March 26, 2021 at the Grace United Methodist Church. Services are under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service. She was born to Keith and Marion Selvey on December 10, 1938 in Fremont, Ohio. Raised on her parent’s farm outsid...e of Green Springs, Ohio, Betty graduated high school in May of 1956. She wed John J. Marcha, III on December 15, 1956. Soon after, they moved to Tacoma, Washington where they were stationed at McChord AFB. They were later stationed at Elmendorf AFB in Anchorage, Alaska where they celebrated Alaska becoming the 49th state in 1958. In 1959, after a brief stint as civilians, John reenlisted in the United States Air Force and they were stationed at McGuire AFB in New Jersey. In June of 1959, Rod, their first son was born. Ten years and three more boys later, Phil, Scott and Dennis, they moved to God's country at Altus AFB in the summer of '69. Becoming members of Grace United Methodist Church, Betty became the children's choir director and her love for music was instilled in her boys. After John's retirement from the USAF in 1979, Betty worked as the office manager at Southwest Metal and Trade and then M&C Construction until retiring in 2000. She was active in ESA sorority and McDowell Club of Allied Arts where her love for music flourished as a director and member of the Grace United Methodist Church Choir. Betty loved spending time gardening, baking pies and cakes, cooking, and providing for her family. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, and a son, Rod. She is survived by her husband, John; sons, Phil, Scott and Dennis; grandchildren, Michael, Michelle, Ashlea, Justin, and Kat; great grandchildren, Paityn, Colby, Emily, Tinley and Elyza Jo; as well as many dear friends. Beulah Labeta Solley Lamar, 96, of Altus, passed away on Sunday, March 14, 2021 in Altus, Oklahoma. The family will hold a private graveside service at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Coyle, Oklahoma. Burial will be under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service. She was born on Dec. 20, 1924 in Iola, Texas to Thomas Arthur and Elizabeth Solley. She had three siblings, T. A., Margie and James, and she told stories of ...working alongside her father in the cotton fields of west Texas. She attended the Roosevelt School near Lubbock, Texas. In June of 1943 she married James Leonard Lamar, a young airman at Lubbock Airfield, whom she had met while she was working at Cloverlake Dairy. James went on to a career in the United States Air Force, and she made a home for the family wherever they were stationed. Together she and James raised four daughters: Gloria, Sheila, Donna and Leah. She was a lifelong learner who enjoyed reading history, geography and her Bible. She loved gardening, sewing, art, music and playing cards. As a member of First Baptist Church Altus, she worked with preschoolers in Sunday school, vacation Bible school and graded choir. She also worked with the Southwest Baptist Association in the training of pre-school teachers, which included two mission trips to new churches in rural Canada. Later in her life, Labeta lived at Tamarack Assisted Living Center, and she was a member of the faith community at First United Methodist Church in Altus. Labeta was preceded in death by her parents, three siblings, and her husband, James. She is survived by her daughters: Gloria Lamar, Sheila Strawn (Steve), Donna Tucker (Mike) and Leah Nellis (John Covaleskie); grandchildren: Erik Strawn (Kerry), Andrea Reilly (Peter), Zack Tucker (Jennifer), Marty Hightower (DJ) and Alonna DeSpain (Kalin); and great grandchildren: Cole and Delaney Schneider, Rance and Zane Tucker, Lillie Labeta and Davis Hightower, and Jack and Cal Reilly. Welch, Sr. Paulette worked as a Certified Nurse Aide most of her adult life, serving others for 21 years at the English Village Manor. She married James Richhart on March 7, 1997 at the Altus Church of the Nazarene. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Paulette enjoyed quilting and sewing and was quite a seamstress. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren. Paulette was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Leroy; son, Jessie Jones; grandson, Jaleel Foye; two sisters, Alice Hopp and Ruthie Caswell; and three brothers, Delbert, Donald and Benny Duke. She is survived by her husband, James; daughters, Molissie Welch, Marguerite Richhart and husband, Shaun, and Susie Richhart; sons, Leroy Welch and wife, Carolyn, and Kadix Richhart; grandchildren, Richard Nichols, Hassan Foye, Kaalon Welch, Kaason Welch, Ivory Lewis, Deiondre Welch, Mya Edwards, Gavin Gonzalez, McKenzie Richie, Jayden Richhart, AJ Delozier and Deronna Colbert; two great grandchildren, Gavin, Jr. and Azyler; three sisters, Shirley Welch, Darlene Pettijon and husband, Tom, and Betty Wilson; and many other family members and friends. Darla Denise Harris, 61, Oklahoma City, passed away at her home on Saturday, March 6, 2021. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 10, 2021 in the Restlawn Cemetery. Burial will be under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Darla Denise Harris was born on November 24, 1959 in Raton, New Mexico to Robert Bob and Billie Sue (Stephens) Harris. She grew up in Altus and graduated from Altus High School with the class of 1978. Darla ...worked most of her life in auto parts sales. She worked for O’Reilly’s Auto Parts for 23 years and retired as the assistant manager in Oklahoma City in 2019. Darla enjoyed fishing, working on cars and her dogs. Her most cherished times were spent with her family. Her parents and a sister, Gail McIntyre, preceded her in death. Survivors include her life partner, Jamie Clark; three brothers, Dale Harris, Derrell Harris, and Stephen Harris and wife, Christy; two nephews, Hunter Harris and Travis Stokes and wife, Toni, and sons; and a niece, Hannah Harris.
