INDOOR FOX HUNT FOR CHILDREN If you are looking for an activity for the kids during Spring Break, Marland’s Grand Home has a great way for the kids to have fun and learn at the same time. Foxes are much easier to find indoors, says Jayne Detten, Assistant Director of the Marland Estate and Marland’s Grand Home. The historical site has created an activity for young guests to search and find Whit the Red Fox in sixteen different rooms. When they do, they will receive a prize ...in the end! The Whit the Fox Indoor Fox Hunt was created to allow young people to navigate Marland’s Grand Home utilizing their own curiosity. By request, a visitor can ask for a fox hunt booklet at the front desk to participate. The booklet reveals the sixteen rooms where Whit is located in picture form. Whit keeps moving from room to room and is a sly little guy. When the visitor finds Whit using the clues provided, he or she will either list the name of the room and where the fox was found (older guests) or will check off that room underneath the photo (younger guests). In the end, the young visitors will have explored the Marland’s living quarters and recreation areas traversing all three floors of the home. This activity will give the younger guests something fun and interesting to do while also providing a fairly simple history challenge. The best thing about this fox hunt is that Whit survives intact every time. Visit Marland’s Grand Home Tuesday through Saturday, 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Admission for adults is $5; Seniors, Military, and Group Tours-Adults $4; Youth 6-17 $3; Group Tours-Students $2; Children under 6 and Ponca City residents are free.
