Congratulations to Corporal Tyler Barry and his K-9 partner Indy as they passed the Type 1 certification! The certification took place at Crisis City in Kansas. Indy was able to locate and alert on all trapped victims spread throughout two separate rubble piles. Indy is now a deployable asset for OKTF-1, as well as Moore Fire Department's first Type 1 Certified Live Find Search and Rescue K-9. This comes at no better time as we approach Oklahoma's storm season. Tyler bragge...d about his partner saying. "He crushed it, it was all him. I'm just the human holding the leash." Congrats to both of you, way to make Moore proud!

The Moore Fire Department is humbled by this recent donation to our Santa Express program. MPS’ Moore Love project chose Santa Express as one of their beneficiaries this year. Moore Public Schools raised money during the month of February and presented us with a $125,000 check. This enormous gift will allow this program to flourish and continue to give back to our community. THANK YOU to our Moore Public Schools family!

Yesterday your Moore Firefighters battled a house fire on the south side of the city. No citizens were injured and the fire was extinguished. Here you can see them after the work is over, rinsing off all the nasty particulates and chemicals that modern fire-fuels produce. Just a little insight into the dirtier side of the job. Stay safe everyone!

No matter the weather, your Moore Firefighters are out there and training to be better! New Corporals are taking their academy to learn how to safely operate and drive the fire engine. They will drive cones, and obstacle courses... as well as learning all of the technical knowledge needed to operate the water pumps on each rig and ladder truck.
