Maclua pomifera, Hedge apple, osage orange, bois d'arc or whatever else it may be called in your region are great and all but i think it should be called "absolutley amazing" i encourage everyone who isnt familiar with this species to read up on it and you'll understand why its "absolutley amazing". I was ecstatic when a couple came into the showroom and chose this slab as their new bartop and it got even better when they asked that the voids be filled with blue resin! And to finish it off ill be pouring a ultra clear high gloss resin finish to magnify all the beautiful details as epoxy does! Here's a set of book matched spalted maple slabs joined end to end to make for a very original 12ft breakfast bar! Spalting causes wood to decay and breakdown as the rotting process takes its course. It can take alot of work to preserve the beauty that's associated with spalting but its worth every ounce of effort!

Aged walnut kitchen island. The process to create a true butcher block top is very time consuming but its sure worth the extra time and effort. Also built some matching shelves to tie it all in. I wish pictures could show the beauty as seen in person!
