Allen Independence Day Celebration 11.10.2021

Allen’s 4th of July Celebration July 4th may have passed on the calendar but it’s never past time to celebrate Independence Day! Allen will be holding their 2nd Annual 4th of July Celebration this Saturday, July 11th. The day will begin with a Parade down main street. Entrants are asked to be at the baseball field for lineup at 8:30 a.m. The Parade will begin at 9:00 a.m. Also at 9:00 a.m., registration for the Corn Hole Tournament will begin at the Allen Fire Station i...n the Industrial Park. Bags will start flying at 10:00. A concession stand will be available and don’t forget your lawn chair. Registration for the Softball Tournament will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the field south of town. Teams will begin playing at 11:00 a.m. A concession stand will be available. There will be a break in the activities during the heat of the day but vendors will begin setting up at 4:30 p.m. at the softball field and everyone is encouraged to be back at 5:30 for the start of the evening activities. In addition to the vendor booths, entertainment will begin at 5:30 with Conner Wilson taking the stage. He will be followed by Sienna Yetter, then disc jockey Tanner Jarrett will provide music to finish out the evening. He will be spinning some amazing music! The free BBQ Dinner will begin serving at 6:00. Thanks to the Pork Council for providing the meat. The evening events will begin at 7:00 p.m. You’ll be able to dunk your favorite firefighter or compete in one of the contests. Awards will be given for the Turtle Race, a 3-Legged Race, Watermelon Seed Spitting Contest, a Hot Dog Eating Contest, and a Water Balloon Toss. At dusk, a fireworks display will be lighting up the sky thanks to Tony Johnson and Leon Moore, assisted by the Allen Fire Department. It is hoped everyone will grab their lawn chairs, some bug spray, and come out to enjoy the day with the friends and neighbors! See more

Allen Independence Day Celebration 22.08.2021

Get ready to celebrate! We know we are getting a late start but let’s celebrate our independence on Saturday, July 11 at the Allen softball complex Our plan is to start the day with a new event PARADE. Let’s show our patriot side - decorate your bike, your scooter, golf cart, horse, wagon or what ever you have and join the fun! parade will start at 9 and will gather at football field at 8:30. For more information contact Lindsey Linker. Dayne Parker is heading up a Co-Ed s...oftball tournament so head over to his page and get your team entered. Plans are underway for a cornhole tournament. Around 4 start gathering back at the softball field for some fun. Hot dog eating contest, seed spitting, bounce house, dunk tank, turtle races will be held. Around 6 pm we will break out the pulled pork sandwiches (thanks Oklahoma Pork Council) the band will get fired up and we will listen, eat and visit waiting for the fireworks finally around dark thirty. Hot Dog Eating Contest rules Where Allen Park 12:30 pm, Saturday, July 6 . Contestants may not touch hot dogs until the starting signal. Only entire hot dogs... eaten will be counted (an entire hot dog includes the bun). Contestants will have 5 minutes to down all the hot dogs they can handle. Contestants may drink water while eating their hot dogs. Buns and hot dogs may be separated, dunked or mangled. All portions of the hot dog (including bun) must be eaten. When the 5 minute time limit is up contestants may not put any additional hot dog or buns in their mouths. They will have 20 seconds to swallow what is in their mouths. Any contents remaining in contestant’s mouths at the end of 20 seconds will not be counted. Partially eaten hot dogs will not be counted.
