It was a perfect day for sprucing up some landscaping! We loved giving this home a little facelift to help the owner prepare it for sale. Our clients are experts in all things horticulture! Under the guidance of their expert job coaches, they can help with your home garden projects - big or small! Our vocational training center was inspired in part by our founders' love of gardening. However, not all of our clients were interested in working with plants, so we created SEEDS! SEEDS clients create jewelry and garden accessories. All items are sold to the public. Additionally, clients in this program enjoy social and life skills training just like our clients working in the greenhouse and out in the community. You can pick up jewelry created by SEEDS clients at the Greater Tulsa Home & Garden Show this weekend! Every purchase benefits the programs that help people with developmental disabilities and autism thrive. Learn more here: https://bit.ly/2KOHagg #ANewLeaf #GrowBloomThrive #SEEDS

Kelcee chose this money tree as the Plant of the Day! These tropicals can grow very tall and enjoy the sun. We've got them for sale here at our retail garden center AND at the Greater Tulsa Home & Garden Show this weekend! Kelcee works at our garden shop and has had the opportunity to explore career options through our vocational training program. This week brought us International Women's Day and People with Disabilities Awareness Day - important reminders to those who have the power to choose that choice is a privilege unavailable to many. We have made some progress in normalizing women's voices at society's table, but we have not always included women with disabilities. Women with disabilities are parents, business owners, and neighbors whose outcomes shouldn't be limited and decided by others. Inclusion only comes with advocacy and allies from all populations supporting the cause. This week, we challenge you to think of disability as part of normal human diversity! Today, celebrate the accomplishments and contributions of individuals with developmental disabilities! Developmental Disability Awareness Day is an opportunity for us to join together to champion inclusion for all people with I/DD in our community. Disability is part of many of our friends' lives. That doesn't diminish their rights to live independently and experience their highest quality of life. Our community is strongest when EVERYONE is included!
