Bartlesville Fire Department 16.04.2021

Due to unprecedented high energy demand on the regional grid that serves the PSO area, PSO is temporarily interrupting power to parts of its service area today... as part of an emergency plan to avoid widespread, uncontrolled outages. We are rotating the areas affected by the controlled outages. You will be without power for two hours or less. This coordinated interruption of power is required by the direction of Southwest Power Pool, which operates the regional electric grid. It’s necessary due to cold temperatures causing extreme demand on the system. Due to high call volume, we ask that all non-emergent outages be reported through the website or through the mobile app. If you have an emergent outage to report, please be prepared for longer than usual wait times. We appreciate your patience during this emergency and ask that you temporarily conserve your energy usage safely for the next few days. See more

Rolling Blackouts, or controlled outages have started across much of the region. We have not yet been notified of schedules for Washington County, but expect th...ose could occur at any time. Outages can be expected to last 1 to 2 hours. PLEASE continue to conserve energy by minimizing the amount of power you consume. Reduce thermostats a few degrees and turn off lights and other appliances that are not absolutely necessary. Conservation measures like these can reduce the number and duration of blackouts needed. We are not used to these kinds of temperatures so it is extremely important to know and understand the signs and symptoms of hypothermia & frostbite. Please check on your elderly Nieghbor’s and friends! Stay safe and warm Bartlesville!
