How Your Support during our READ-A-THON Will Help Us: During these trying times, Beggs Elementary still needs to have a fundraiser to help generate funds that can be used for teacher supplies, classroom supplies, student needs, playground balls, nets, etc., and library funds to help replace the cost of books lost during last year's spring break that never ended. LOL! We are excited about this READ-A-THON fundraiser! There are no trinkets or candy to buy. There is no distribut...ing in person! The list of positives about this fundraiser goes on and on! However, the best part about this fundraiser is that it encourages READING! We do tons of READING at BES so this should be pretty easy and successful! This year with some of our students doing Virtual learning and some students attending in-person school, our READ-A-THON works with all students! Your teacher will be sending home information sheets. Ms. McCune will also send messages with helpful information. The average raised per student is $35, so if all 400 of our students raise $35 each we could raise $14,000.! Amazing! Beggs Elementary has decided to hold a Read-a-thon this year! Read-a-thons actually get your reader excited about reading and it gives friends and family the opportunity to encourage your child to read even more. Our Read-a-thon starts Monday March 22nd 2021.... Yesterday we sent home instructions on how to activate your reader's personal page. This is where you will be able to view and record their progress. We've chosen Read-a-thon because it will not take much of your time, gives your child a reason to read and it helps in the development of stronger reading skills. We hope EVERYONE participates.
