Hello, 08/19/20 A family’s voice, uninhibited; a natural occurrence in a Shared Decision Making (SDM) model.... Krystal & Roland Odume’s 4 pregnancies have all been different, as they should be. With each birth, a maturing expectation of their birth preferences became more natural and expressed easily, as the conversations and expression of ideas are encouraged with SDM. Krystal’s current pregnancy was uneventful and the birth also, naturally. It was revelatory and empowering for her. Also in this era of the Covid-19 Pandemic (no visitors), Krystal received a combination of Doula and professional photography support from Brittany Knapik, thereby adding a special kick to this moment. On August 11, 2020 at 40 1/7 weeks EGA; with spontaneous labor, baby Micah (aka Jelly Bean) was born, weighing, 7’2, and completing the journey with a Lotus Birth. Krystal & Roland Odume wanted to share (wirh permission) their story with emphasis on Shared Decision Making, succinctly expressed in the attached short video, answering 3 important questions.
