This young man sits where a little boy once was and lives everyday with Autism. His life is full, it is different than most, but he is happy and LIVING his BES...T LIFE, with his fur brother, an ADULT now . Autism is real and is a lifelong diagnosis. With early intervention it often improves, but it never goes away and transitions into adulthood. Many of you know our guy through his journey with Autism. Some of you only by pictures & stories and others are full fledged members of our tribe. The current, all grown up version of Brady is pretty great! He graduated from MHS in 2017. Since then, he’s been busy and has earned vocational degrees in CADD and Graphic Design and is currently in his dream program of learning to create 3D Animation! My heart’s message today on WORLD AUTISM DAY is that our communities are swimming with autistic individuals who are transitioning from children to adults and they need our support. Support as they work hard to find their place in this big old world as your neighbors or your coworkers. Collectively they need us to encourage them, support them, accept them in their uniqueness, be kind, and believe in them. As Autism becomes more understood, employers are becoming more educated as well. They are learning that when you take a chance and employ an autistic worker their innate skills can be invaluable. Their attention to detail, ability to focus, their reliability, excellent memory, and technical skills, make them valuable employees. They tend to be compliant and typically stick with a job once they are hired. These special people will be world changers, if given an opportunity!! This is where we are. His reality. His future. Brady’s life with Autism is happy, hard, ever changing and full of unknowns and goals yet to be achieved but isn’t that true for all of us? And aren’t we blessed to have a God who loves us, has a detailed plan for our lives, and walks beside us everyday? The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps. -Proverbs 16:9
