Braman Area Chamber of Commerce & Agriculture 03.11.2021

UPDATE 1:45 pm The crew did not get the water turned off as early as planned and had difficulty getting it to stop running back on them. They’ve now had it off for about an hour and a half. In talking to them minutes ago, they estimated another hour to an hour and a half until it’s back on. Tuesday, October 12, 2021, 9:20 a.m.... The crew will be shutting down the water line between Peckham Road and Bender Road to tie in a new line. They anticipate turning off the water in that area around 10:30 this morning. The work should take approximately 2 hours. The affected area will be: Main St between Peckham and Bender Roads; Earth Road between Main and 13th Streets; Fork Road between Main and O Streets. Thank you for your patience while our crew works to improve our service line. -Blackwell Rural Water Corp.

UPDATE - 8/26/21, 5:25 p.m. Please conserve throughout the evening and into at least tomorrow. We have not located the issue. Right now, our pumps cannot keep up with the demand. Our underground storage tank is empty and the tower is not full. Usage must be minimized to keep everyone with water. Based on the overall usage last night and through today, this is a significant leak. If you see a creek or other area that is bubbling or overfull or anything suspicious, please... call us. We have a dispatch service that will answer after-hours and will contact our crew. We still believe this issue is north of Fork Rd, but if you see anything in other areas, please call. 580-363-1260 or 800-535-1079 Please do not report issues via email to this email because it is not checked 24/7. The phone numbers are the only way to reach someone 24/7. Please share this with affected neighbors that might not be on our email distribution list. -Blackwell Rural Water Corp.

Sunday, 2/21/21, 5:40 pm We have two major issues affecting everyone north of Blackwell. There is a leak right north of Blackwell on the City's side of the service. They will bring in equipment to repair it on Monday. This is drastically reducing the incoming water.... The second issue is a broken line in the tower at the Kanza. The tower is currently empty. We're attempting to get some water into our tank east of Braman.. The water supply coming into our system is less than the demand. The pressure is going to continue to be reduce. As always, please share this with neighbors that might not be on our email distribution list. -Blackwell Rural Water Corp.

Sunday, 2/21/21, 2:45 pm North system -- The demand from the system north of Blackwell and in the Braman area is currently more than our supply from the City and has reduced our storage amounts. Reduced supply means reduced pressure for all point north of Blackwell. We currently have a crew out looking for a possible leak in the north system. It is hard to tell the difference in a leak and melting snow right now. Please, if you see a possible leak, call our dispatch at 580...-363-1260 or 800-535-1079. Check your pastures and uninhabited buildings where leaks might have occurred and gone unnoticed during these extreme freezing temperatures. All areas -- Please conserve water. The City of Blackwell continues to have reduced pressure to our points of entry. ALL areas will be affected, including those currently not experiencing difficulties, if supply tanks are depleted. We must work together to reduce the overall demand on the City's supply until we get through this winter crisis. Please share this information with neighbors that might not be on our email distribution list. -Blackwell Rural Water Corporation

17 February 2021 Kay Electric is just one Utility in a larger Regional Grid. The Operator of the 14 State Regional Grid is Southwest Power Pool (SPP) located in Little Rock. SPP has the authority to shut down Electric Circuits on the SPP Grid if emergency circumstances require, also known as reaching Alert Level 3. This has never occurred before until this week. SPP has declared Emergency Status twice now due to Natural Gas shortages and under performing Renewables in the ext...reme cold and snow, which resulted in SPP "shedding" Circuit Loads across all Utilities on the Grid. Please know Kay Electric has no control over when these shedding events occur and are given minimal if any notice. That is controlled solely by SPP. Kay Electric also has no control over keeping individual Meters on, as SPP turns off entire Circuits, not just Meters. We are however doing everything possible to minimize the impact of this event and support our membership. Continue to conserve power as best you can safely. The SPP rolling blackout outages have so far been under 3 hours in length. If you experience an outage longer than that, please call us at 580-363-1260.

UPDATE 5:20 pm 2/16/21 The Sumpter pump has been restarted and our tank east of Braman is partially full. This will allow water to get back to all of the locations north of Dry Road. The pump is working at partial pressure and we are receiving reduced pressure from the City of Blackwell due to issues in town. It is going to take time to restore some level of pressure. On another note .... The City of Blackwell is having a rash of leaks with these extreme temperatures and are requesting our help in conserving water through the weekend. We are in a catch 22 situation, running a trickle of water through a faucet is one way to not have your pipes freeze, however, that is a waste of water. Opening your cabinet doors will help with your pipes inside the house, especially those located on exterior walls. If you have temporarily covered your meter with a piece of insulation or a small bale of straw, that should take care of the meter. Remember to remove those items from February 22nd to the 25th so we can read meters. Conserve where you canwe are experiencing unprecedented cold for an extended time. The weekend forecast calls for temperatures above freezing. Please share this information with affected neighbors that might not be on our email distribution list. Thank you. -Blackwell Rural Water Corp.

Braman Alert: Water pressure should be a bit stronger than it was but the leak will not be fixed until tomorrow. It is on Blackwell's side of the pipe so it's up to them to fix it. Please try to conserve water. Stay safe and warm! Reply Stop to Optout
