As we lifted up the rear door on their suv we could see all four of them lined up in a row. They were peering over the back of the seat with their eyes wide in wonder as only children can do. As we loaded the boxes filled with all kinds of food from cereal, to frozen chicken, to Little Debbie’s, we could hear an occasional Ohhhhh escaping from that back seat. Both of the parents in this family have been laid off from their jobs and have not received any government stimulus money yet. Families like these are the reason we have stayed open during the Covid-19 virus pandemic. Thank you to all who have been supporting our food bank through this difficult time.

Even in the midst of this Covid-19 crisis, we continue to receive food donations. Last week one of the donations we received was twelve cases of bread. This week we received cases of fresh strawberries, kiwi, apples and bananas. The produce looks as good as any you would find on a grocery store shelf. We are so blessed!

I walked into a local store last week and heard the words today all your purchases are on us. Sometimes the blessings we receive that enable us to keeps food on our shelves amazes me. We distributed food to about eighty families today. Thank you to everyone that supports our food bank and makes this possible.

Some of us may be wearing gloves and masks, but behind the masks are the same great smiles. So if you need food we are open today until 2:00 p.m.
