Brookside Pottery/Linda Rimstidt Coward

Dear former students, datenights and friends of Brookside pottery, I am still in limbo as I wait for better weather and a little better health. I hope this spring to sort through the boxes moved home, to find things and form a new working studio at home. Health and weather have held me captive. I’m doing to the best I can to get healthy again with exercise, medication and diet. Throw in some good luck and things will be organized and functional again. There are some possibilities for teaching, perhaps in the summer if all goes well. Thanks again for your patience.

Friends and students. I am still on hold as I heal and get stronger with heart rehab. And the weather has created a delay in studio at home set up. It’s too dang hot for me to be out there moving and organizing, I’m told. So hang in here with me, give me a little more time. I’m getting lots of inquiries about more date nights, tutoring and mentor/apprenticeship opportunities and hope to make some of this happen again on a limited basis. Never hesitate to ask and I’ll cross my fingers for some fall weather soon.

Just an update about Brookside Pottery. At the end of May I attempted to move my pottery to my home in Brookside. I had a light heart attack during the middle of the move and had a stent placed in my heart. My wonderful friends finished the move for me while I was in the hospital and in recovery. So the shop is now half unpacked at home and the business is on hold until my strength and health have returned. The summer’s heat has slowed everything down. I am still healing ...as well. No pots have been discarded during the process but are boxed and ready to glaze. I have had some pots for a very long time and those will eventually be donated to empty bowls if not claimed. For those made in the last few months of my downtown location, I’ll hold for a while longer and as soon as I’m well, either you or I can glaze. We can glaze in my home garage studio or I can glaze for you. Keep an eye on this post and I’ll let you know when I’m set up again. Or as the boxes are unloaded you can come get your pots and hang onto them till further notice. I can’t keep the pots forever due to limited space but together we will do our best to finish these lovelies. The experience as well creates fine memories. Brookside Pottery is moving back to Brookside. I am creating my home studio for pottery, painting and writing. I will host date nights most likely in another location to be announced. Also, if I still have your bowls and you have not glazed yet remember the three options. For some, the throwing experience without keeping bowls was enough fun. 1. Come back and glaze for 1/2 price. $25 each. If I have already made prices this can be done at my home. 2. I’ll glaze pieces for ...you at $15 each. 3. Just come get what you made and glaze at some other convenient time. I will be taking unfinished work to my home and will keep it for 60 more days. Some pieces will be donated to empty bowls when that happens again if not claimed in that time. We always have fun throwing! It’s all on hold for a bit.
