We have flu shots! We have influenza vaccines for most Insurances as of today. Our flu clinic will be a little different, so please have patience. Right now, we have most days from 1-2 pm and all day on Thursday.

I need you to know that the number of cases in the city has rapidly increased over the past 2 weeks. Hospitalizations have been rising exponentially within the past 4 days. As a physician, I am officially getting worried. I need you to start taking this very seriously. Unfortunately, the largest uptick in cases has been in the 18-35 y/o range. This age range can have mild symptoms, but people with mild symptoms are still contagious and can be extremely dangerous if they spread... the virus to a high risk group, such as those over 75, diabetics, and others with chronic illness. Please wear a mask if you are in an indoor, public place (not on children under 2 years old), and wear it over your nose and mouth at all times. Respect 6 ft social distancing, and clean your hands routinely. Stay home if you are sick and get tested if you are concerned you have symptoms consistent with COVID-19. Avoid high risk friends and family if you feel sick, especially if you have a fever. These measures have been shown to decrease the spread of coronavirus and to save lives. I understand the need for people to get back to work. I understand the financial hardships and mental stress we have all faced with lockdown. But it’s time to be smart about this. It’s time to remember the Oklahoma standard and to protect each other. If the numbers keep going up, we will have to lock down again, and that could be even worse for our economy than the first lock down..We can do this! We just need to do this together. https://www.livescience.com/hair-stylists-infected-covid19-

If you have teens or young adults in your house, I need your attention. Currently in NYC, 20-30% of critically ill patients are young. This has been a little surprising to physicians. However, a link we are finding is vaping or smoking/vaping marijuana. Teens/young adults have decided COVID-19 is an "old person's issue". I'm writing this post to tell you that it is NOT. ... One potential risk factor we are finding is vaping/smoking. If you are like me, you have quickly noticed that teens are not exactly following good social distancing practices. So now is the time to talk about one risk that is putting healthy, young people onto ventilators. That risk is smoking/vaping. Be okay with accepting that your teen may be vaping as stressful as this may be. If you learn they are addicted to nicotine, it's okay to consider alternatives such as gum or patches to help them break an addiction. If you need a good resource, you can call TSET for free addiction treatment options and counseling. Now is not the time to judge. Now is the time to protect your family and to minimize their risk as much as possible. I'm pretty sure that we will be in a very bad place with this virus in Oklahoma in about 10-14 days. Please do everything you can to protect your family. Stay home. Wash your hands. https://www.wbur.org///26/vaping-coronavirus-complications

I wanted to give everyone a general update about how my clinic is being run for now. In the morning to early afternoon, I am only seeing wellness visits. If you or anyone in your family has a fever or a COVID-19 exposure, you will need to reschedule your wellness visit. I am seeing sick visits in the afternoon. Please be understanding of the screening questions from my staff. Keeping my patients and my staff safe is my priority. We are asking that are all of our patients wa...it in their car until we are ready to bring you back to a clean exam room. We will call you when we are ready. Any patient who has symptoms that could be consistent with Covid-19 is asked to call our triage nurse FIRST so that we can make appropriate decisions on how to provide care or refer for testing. Finally, I am offering a telemedicine option. You will need to call my office and schedule a telemedicine visit, so that I can file your insurance for the visit. Most insurances are waiving copays for patients to use telemedicine. For now, I am asking that children under the age of 2 years discuss their symptoms with my triage nurse prior to a telemedicine visit. My link is https://doxy.me/dredgmon. You will need to set up a patient account prior to a visit. The account is free. I also need you to take your child's weight and temperature prior to the visit. Please have your child in a well-lit room and have a bright flashlight to help with examination. I am unsure of how restricted my ability to see patients may become. So, if your child has a history of ear problems, you may want to consider purchasing an LED ear camera (Wireless ear endoscope/otoscope etc) that works with your phone to take pictures of the inner ear. There are several models on Amazon. Stay safe, avoid large crowds, protect the elderly and immunocompromised people in your life, and wash those hands!!

I realize that everyone is very concerned about the Coronavirus outbreak. I wish I could give you better advice right now, but the truth is, we are just beginning to understand this virus. South Korea is giving us really good information. They are testing a lot of people. They have tested over 140,000 people. In the US, we have only tested a few thousand people. We are really behind on our testing. So expect to see a huge increase in the number of cases in the US as we increa...Continue reading
