Enid/Garfield County Emergency Management 13.05.2021

0400L-WEDNESDAY OUTLOOK FROM ENID/GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-3/31/21 1- FREEZE WATCH in effect from 0300 until 0900 Thursday morning. Sub-freezing temps as low as 30 degrees are possible in Alfalfa, Garfield, Grant, Kay, Kingfisher, & Major Counties. Overall, it will be chilly but we’ll be ok. It would be a good idea to protect young plants by covering them and disconnecting hoses that may have been reconnected. Be sure to download our GARFIELD COUNTY EM app. It jus...t might save your life!! 2- The FIRE DANGER is still around it appears it will be for the foreseeable future. After reading the Spring 2021 Outlook, it appears we will slowly transition into mild drought conditions. This doesn’t mean we won’t see any precip but it does mean that we will definitely see dryer conditions as we move into spring and summer. We’ll see what happens for sure. Keep that eye out for smoke and fire and call 911 if you see any. A quick response is important especially when the winds are up. 3- Here is your countywide forecast from the NWS/NORMAN; Today-Partly cloudy early in the morning then clearing. Highs in the lower 60s. North winds 10 to 15 mph. Tonight-Clear. Lows in the lower 30s. Northeast winds around 10 mph in the evening becoming light and variable. HAVE A GOOD DAY!! MIKE

0410L-TUESDAY OUTLOOK FROM ENID/GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-3/30/21 1- A front will traverse the area this morning shifting winds from the south to the north-northeast. Some of that dirt that flew by yesterday may return to us sometime during the day. We shouldn’t see any precip with this front but the southeast part of the state may as it works its way southeast. We will see cooler temps and some gusty NE winds but nothing like yesterday, at least right now. 2- Over...all, our rain chances this week are very low so stay vigilant on the smoke and fire situation and call 911 if you see any. We continue to ask that any controlled burning be delayed until winds settle down. We appreciate that. 3- There is apparently an issue with the NWS websites around the country. Here is your forecast for today based on another program I use when this happens; Today- Partly cloudy with highs in the low 60’s. North winds 15-25 mph. I’ll try to update if they can get the NWS issues fixed. HAVE A GOOD DAY!! MIKE
