Employee Solutions is hiring a QC Lab Technician. Duties 1. Opening Hardened Cylinder Testing... a. Must be reliable and on time b. Must be able to work alone c. Collecting test cylinders off the bed. d. Accurately testing cylinders and recording results e. Post results to Supervisors and Inform Bed Leaders f. Gather all remaining cylinder from beds g. Strip all cylinders, label 7-Day and 28-Day cylinders and properly store h. Discard extra cylinders 2. Laboratory Testing a. Testing all 7-Day and 28-Day Cylinders b. Collecting aggregate samples for moisture testing twice daily minimum c. Collecting aggregate samples for gradation testing from stockpiles and/or delivery trucks, at least once per week per aggregate used 3. Fresh Concrete Testing a. Setup test station b. Prepare all concrete cylinder molds for pours c. Perform fresh concrete testing and document results d. Make a sufficient number of test cylinders per bed as needed e. Ensure cylinders are delivered to the correct bed and properly stored for curing. 4. Housekeeping a. Ensure all Fresh Concrete Testing Tools are clean and operational b. Ensure Compression Machine is clean c. Ensure Aggregate Testing Area is clean and tools maintained d. Ensure Lab is Clean, swept and dusted daily e. Ensure Utility Building is Clean, swept daily f. Ensure surrounding area of QC Lab and Utility Building is policed and kept presentable. 5. Perform other tasks as directed by the QC Supervisor and/or Manager. III. Minimum Qualifications / Skills 1. High School Graduate / GED 2. Can fluently speak, read, and write, English. 3. Proficient in mathematics, including some Algebra. 4. Ability to work unsupervised. IV. Physical Requirements 1. Ability to lift and move heavy objects, (50 lbs.) 2. Ability to climb onto and off of; a. Material Aggregate Stockpiles b. Casting Beds c. Plant Equipment. 3. 20/20 or correctable to 20/20 vision. 4. Ability to hear audible alarms and/or verbal warnings. The QC Lab Technician is an early morning position. It is a position that will require dedication and reliable attendance. The technician must be self-motivating and trustworthy. The QC Lab Technician will be required to be on their feet most of the day, (approximately 80%) and be outdoors in all types of weather. They will need to be able stand, squat, bend, stoop, and climb.
