HEADS UP! Does your water sometimes look dirty in the springtime? Each spring the Enid Fire Department - Enid, OK flushes their fire hydrants as part of normal maintenance. This can cause sediment in the lines to be stirred up. - James Thomas, Water Production Supervisor explains. SOLUTION: Run your outside faucet for several minutes and it should flush it all out of your house.... You should also try to avoid doing laundry on the days we're testing in your area. We will publish the testing schedule here on FB and it's also in the Enid News & Eagle.

Annual Fire Hydrant Flow Testing will begin on Monday, April 12th. Keep an eye out here on our FB page or look for notices in the Enid News & Eagle for notices when we'll be testing in your area. Flow tests disrupt rust and sediment in the water lines and can stain lighter colors of clothing or linens. After our testing please run your faucets until the water runs clear before showering or doing laundry. Avoid running hot water until it clears so you won't add sediment to your water heater.
