Hello! Just wanted to update everyone. As you know our Governor just announced that personal care services like barbers and hair salons can open on Friday. He also said that the vulnerable population does not need to go back to work yet. One of the members of my family falls into that vulnerable population. Also we as hairdressers are still supposed to social distance. How can we shampoo or cut someone's hair from six feet away? Also they haven't put out any guidelines for o...ur state as far how we're supposed to safely provide these services for our clients. I have seen guidelines in other states like Georgia and they are very extensive. They're supposed to provide PPE for themselves and their clients, change the PPE in between each client and change their own clothes in between each client as well as recommending the stylist wear a face shield or goggles. I don't know about you but these things have been hard to come by recently as well as things I would use to clean my salon like bleach wipes and disinfectants. In Georgia they are also supposed to have a 2-3 hour gap in between each client with no double booking. Oklahoma has not even come out with guidelines like this yet. Besides the PPE we would need not being available they're also not affordable. It is not feasible for me to open at this point in time. I will keep you updated but I'm not planning on opening until June 1, 2020. I realize some of you might be upset with my decision and I can respect that. I also hope you can respect my decision.
