It’s that time of the week once again. Yes indeed, it’s firefighter Friday! Today we are excited to introduce to you Dustin Smith! Dustin was born and raised in... Elk City and graduated from high school here in 2001. From there, Dustin attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University before returning to Elk City. Dustin married his awesome wife Kristen in 2003 and they have made Elk City their home since! Dustin and Kristen have two amiable kids that keep them busy and they also remain very active in the community! Dustin is attached to C-shift as a volunteer firefighter and has been a member of the department since 2003! As a volunteer firefighter, Dustin holds a full-time job away from the department yet still finds time for frequent calls at all times of the day & night as well as frequent training which makes being a volunteer firefighter a truly selfless position within our department! When Dustin isn’t working you can find him hanging out and spending time with his family. Dustin also enjoys and takes advantage of times he can get outdoors for hunting and fishing. Dustin is someone you always enjoy seeing on scenes and is never afraid of work. Dustin’s strong work ethic combined with a servant’s heart and 17+ years of firefighting experience make him an irreplaceable member of the department. Thank you, Dustin! See more
