Jesus said the true worshipers of God MUST worship Him in spirit and in truth. Those who are approaching the Lord based on what they have done are not worshipin...g the Lord in the spirit and, therefore, are not truly worshiping God. Paul showed that he had more acts of holiness than most, but he counted all his efforts as dung in comparison to the gift of righteousness that comes through faith in what Jesus did. This is an attitude that must come to those who are prospering in the things of the Lord. We can’t have any confidence in ourselves. Our confidence must be in the Lord.
