What is the difference between dissolvable melatonin and controlled release Melatonin? Dissolvable melatonin is a that you put in your mouth and is absorbed very quickly, directly into the blood vessels. You can dissolve the tablets between the cheek and gum or under the tongue. Dissolvable melatonin is quick acting but short acting. A great option to help a person go to sleep if they are low in melatonin. If you have a difficult time staying asleep you may want to consider ...the use of controlled release melatonin. You can swallow the tablet about 30-60 minutes before bedtime. Part of the tablet dissolves quickly in the stomach for quick action while the remainder of the melatonin is slowly released as it travels through the intestines.
