A "Spring-Time Celebration" of color from Honor Heights Gardens, Muskogee, OK March 14, 2016. There is something stimulating about the burst of color in the fields, woodlands, and gardens in the Spring. In 2016 it seemed like it all hit in just a couple of weeks. It sure made for some beautiful images. I'll post a few more, here, over the next few days. But, as great as the colors and the awakening of flowers and trees can be, they are but a foreshadowing of the glory of th...e Resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ that we celebrate each year. The life of the natural world fades, and must be renewed every year, but the life that is received from the Resurrection NEVER fades. His "Eternal Life" transforms our lowly existence and grants to us a life of peace and security that continues through all Eternity. In Him IS life, and through faith in His death, burial, and Resurrection we find forgiveness, restoration, and eternal rest in His presence. If you want to truly "celebrate the Spring" then Celebrate Jesus Christ. God Be Praised! See more

Blessings on this Day of Celebration: Jesus Christ IS born - the Savior of the World has appeared, bringing salvation to ALL who believe. COME, LET US ADORE HIM! The Prophet Isaiah: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call His name, "Immanuel - God With Us." The angel Gabriel: "She will bear a son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins."... Mary: "My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit exalts in God my Savior... For He who is mighty has done great things... and Holy is His name." Simeon: "Lord, now let your servant depart in peace, according to your Word; for my eyes have seen your salvation that you have prepared in the presence of all you people, a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and for glory to your people Israel." Merry Christmas! See more

"The Fields Of Honor" As we take time over this weekend leading to our celebration of Independence Day, let us also take time to consider the cost of our Freedo...m. The final sentence of the Declaration of Independence states, "We mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our Sacred Honor." From that time it has been men and women of our Armed Forces who have taken their places to defend the Freedoms declared on that day. I regularly take time to visit National Cemeteries when I have a chance. The "body" of this photo is from Fort Gibson National Cemetery, about 1-hour from Tulsa. I go there "just to take the time" to reflect upon the incredible sacrifice made by those who served, and by those who died to "keep" the freedoms declared by our Founding Fathers. I like to take photos, yes, but more than that I will stroll through the precisely laid-out rows, with the stark, yet beautiful, white stone markers. I pause, randomly, read a name, reflect on the times of their service, take notice of whether they died in conflict, or lived through it... And I thank them! I thank their families, and I pray for their surviving loved ones. I also pray for all who are serving presently. And I pray for our Nation - there is NONE other like it. To me, "God Bless America" is not a catch-phrase, or just a patriotic song. It is a prayer... It is MY prayer. Thank you to ALL who have served! I respect and honor your service, your sacrifice, and your life. You, too, have a place in "The Fields of Honor." Technical Data: Base Image: Canon 5D mkIII w/ EF 24-105 f4L 1/80@f16 ISO320 Ft. Gibson National Cemetery: 05/23/2009 This is my first venture into "Photoshop." I used my image as the base, and blended in the Flag downloaded from Adobe Stock.
