ATTENTION SWINE OWNERS: From Rod Hall, DVM Oklahoma State Veterinarian Please be aware that we discovered a few cases of PED at the barrow show at OYE that ended last Friday. The gilts began moving in today and will show Thursday through Saturday. The management of OYE and the State Fairgrounds have done a great job making a plan, cleaning and disinfecting, and doing the best possible to ensure that the gilts will be able to show. We need to be very careful when taking gi...lts and/or equipment home! Please review the attached checklist and stay safe!! ~Elissa See more

Show families! Let’s talk health papers (CVIs)!!! OYE is upon us and every species needs a health paper. You will find the rules online under the OYE website. Please call the clinic ASAP to get your name on the list for health papers. If possible make sure you have an email address on file as well. This will make it easier to get your papers to you. Cattle/Sheep/Goats- your CVIs can be done any time so please get us your information as soon as possible. Please read the websi...te for acceptable official ID and include it in your email. Swine- We will need all information including your name, 840 tag numbers, AND OYE tag numbers on all swine as well as the negative pseudo tests emailed or brought in NOW*********. All pigs must be seen within 72 hours of their entry day. That means you might need separate CVIs for barrows and gilts. Check your dates and call the clinic to get on the list. *If you have emailed the clinic information please call the clinic to make sure we have seen your email and have put you on the list* Good luck to all!!! ~Elissa [email protected]

Good luck to all the show kids this weekend!! We also want to thank all of our clients who are showing swine for being kind to us while we sorted through everyone’s paperwork. If anyone has requested health papers for the shows on Sunday/Monday and have NOT received them either physically or by email please call the office ASAP!! We will do our best to get them to you! ... Please remember that new health papers need to be written and hogs need to be seen by the doctor within 3 days of each show. ~Elissa See more
