Kiwanis Club of Greater Ada

Many of you will remember the old carousel that operated at the Kiwanis Kiddie Park. We have had it in storage since we purchased the new one and are now needing to free up the storage space, so we are going to sell the 12 horses. It is a ride called Rodeo made by the Allan Herschell company. I am showing 2 pictures of each horse with a number on it and they will be sold first come. The money raised from selling the horses will go toward the expenses associated with getting a... new train at the park. So, you will not only be buying a piece of Ada's history, but helping fund a new train. You will get the horse and the stirrup piece below the horse. You will need to make or purchase a stand for it. They are just as they were when taken out of service and are being sold as is. As far as we know, there are no defects in the horses such as cracks, etc. They are made of cast aluminum, not wood. Please ask if you have questions. The price for each horse is $2,500. Horses #12,4, 7, and 9 are sold. These are the white horses. Of course any of the other horses could be repainted to be white or whatever color scheme you wish. See more

Followers of Greater Ada: We are planning to apply for some grants to help fund our "Save the Train" efforts and would like to have some "testimonials" from people who have ridden the train. Particularly, the value of it to you and the community. One of the grants requires a Health and Wellness focus. So, if you can relate how the train benefits health and wellness that would be a bonus. The golf ball drop has been rescheduled for 10 am on Monday 9/14/20 at the Oak Hills Golf Course. Pictures and videos will be posted following and if all goes well, we plan to use Facebook Live to record the event. Good Luck to all who bought balls. Now if the weather will cooperate we can finish this event.

UPDATE ON GOLF BALL DROP! If you didn't get a call that you won the golf ball drop, don't despair. We had to postpone it due to the weather. Shortly before the drop was scheduled, it started to rain and there was lighting in the area, so the Fire Department couldn't safely put a person on the ladder truck to do the drop. We will reschedule the drop and announce here on our Facebook page when it will be. We will video the drop and if possible will go live on Facebook during the drop. Good Luck to all who bought balls.
