Well, I think I have covered most of my thank you notes in the last two articles, but one more THANK YOU to all that have helped me in the last five years here at the Chamber. It was my main goal to draw all of Greer together and make us one big family. I feel we have been successful in that area and my desire is the continued cooperation to make (keep) Greer County vibrant and thriving. Please, please, please continue to support our local businesses. They are our family and neighbors and they depend on us. They are the ones that support our kids in all their programs, most big box businesses don’t. Most of all. Let’s love one another and serve one anotherthat should be our only goal. HONORING OUR HOMETOWN HEROES Part 2 On Tuesday May 21, 2019 at 10:00 am in Mangum, OK come celebrate with us as we; Dedicate a new Granite Marker for Captain Wi...lliam Thomas Ponder. (Captain Ponder is the only WW 1 Ace from Oklahoma and he is a Greer County boy from Mangum.) Observe the upcoming date of June 6th which will be the 75th Anniversary of D Day from WW 2. Two local authors will be set up to sell and sign their books. The General Tommy Franks Road Show and mobile classroom will be in attendance. The Road Show is a 60-foot-long truck and trailer complete with graphics and images from around the world. The VA’s mobile Vet Center Truck will be available for any Veterans that want to sign up or work on their claims or learn more about available programs. The Ceremony will be located at The Old Greer County Museum & Hall of Fame Inc. Mangum, OK 222 West Jefferson Street one block west of the town Square. See more
