So Wednesday morning we loaded out a semi with our clubby bred cows. It marked the end to 23 years of late night heat checks, piles of AI catalogs, CIDRs and Lutalyse sitting on the dryer, wondering if the trader that called was really going to stop by, counting down the days until the Griswold sale catalog showed up, wondering if there was a single trader in the world that had a dime to their name, checking online sales every night, re-arranging the fridge to make more room... for synch drugs, and taking a week of vacation to get all the cows AI’d and embryos put in. I’m sure I’ll miss some of it but it was just time to move on. We are still running cows, just not clubbies.
