High Hopes Training Center

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, we couldn’t hold the OHJA awards banquet this year. The awards were delivered to the barns. High Hopes held our own version of the banquet and handed out the awards one by one just like at the real banquet. It was great fun. 2020 had challenges, to say the least! Kylee’s original partner, Princess, passed away during the pandemic lockdown. She found a new partner, Charlotte (Sure as None), and racked up enough points to be fifth in the .8...5 meter jumpers. Avery’s horse Frankie (Falsette) had a painful year with a sarcoid and missed several shows, but racked up enough points to be Champion in the Thoroughbred jumpers and 4th in the Thoroughbred hunters. Trinity’s horse Bullet (CR Heza Salty Cowboy) had an injury and missed all the fall shows but held on for 3rd in both the .85 and .95 meter jumpers. Ileah and Remmie (Sign of the Times) had their eye on the AQHA World show and used the OHJA classes for training. They ended up Champion in the .95 and fourth in the .85 meter jumpers. Since Caitlin is a nurse, she worked long long hours and various jobs due to Covid-19. She managed to get a few shows in and her horse Slim (Twentyniner) ended up Reserve Champion in the Thoroughbred jumpers. Jaycee & her family moved to a new place & built a home from scratch. She and her horse Aiden (Pablo Picasso) practiced a lot from home and it paid off Champion in the .85 meter jumpers, Reserve Champion in the .95 meter jumpers, Res. Champ in 1 meter jumpers, Res. Champ Modified Equitation and 3rd in the Modified hunters. To cap off a great year, she was awarded High Point Schooling Rider.
