Someone cuts you off on your commute? Just expect it. No big deal. Let it drop, and then be thankful for the person, that exceptional person, who lets you merg...e. See the human heart for what it is, adjust expectations, and be grateful, not angry. When you see, in the midst of all this mess, beautiful glimpses of God’s kingdom, defined by love, breathe it in. For the most part when I read this book I thought I’m not offend-able. I take criticism well. I’m forgiving. I’m love all, even when our views don’t line up. But this. This is me. Nothing, and I do mean nothing makes me question my righteousness quite like stupid people in traffic. Maybe, just maybe I need to adjust my expectations. Consider what their walk looks like. Consider what life just threw at them to make them distracted and adjust my perspective. Maybe my inability to see the bigger picture actually makes me the less intelligent participant in this scenario. If you struggle with being offended, or even if you think you are perfect like me and don’t... either way it’s a good read.
