Gardener’s Cottage, Edinburgh The Cottage is nestled in the heart of West Princes Street Gardens, below the floral clock. This Category C-listed cottage was designed by Architect Robert Morham in 1886. Originally the Head Gardener’s house, the Cottage has now been restored into a distinctive Victorian cottage, complete with a spectacular dining room. The Cottage operates as the campaign base for The Quaich Project, a partnership between the Ross Development Trust and the City of Edinburgh Council.

Looks like Adelaide is about to lose one of its landmarks, the Big Scotsman at Scotties Motel. According to today’s Sunday Mail Adelaide’s trendsetting Giant Scotsman, which has loomed over one of the city’s busiest intersections for nearly 60 years, is facing an uncertain future. The owner of Scotty’s Motel wants to replace the building with townhouses, apartments and shops so the future of the iconic 5m-tall, bagpipe-playing, kilted Scotsman which was installed in December 1962, is in doubt. Believe it or not the Giant Scot was Australia’s first big thing and Adelaide artist and Scotsman creator Paul Kelly believes that the Scotsman set the trend for all the Big Things which have popped up since.
