When did graphic design start? If graphic design consists of placing text and images into a pleasing arrangement within a publication of some sort, it can be argued that medieval illuminated manuscripts might be the earliest of graphic design projects. I am fascinated by illuminated manuscripts, with their intricate details, bright colors, gold accents, and quirky images. Here are some musically inclined feline-like creatures taken from the borders of illuminated books. As a music lover and cat fan, I think these are delightful!

Digital Colored Pencil Drawing There is something wonderful and fresh about the way hand-created art looks. But this art was done with an Apple pen on a digital devise. I am not super-good at it yet, but I really do enjoy drawing in Procreate on my iPad.

Are business cards still useful in this day and age? I think they are. Business cards are direct. They are accessible to everyone. Plus, they are an inexpensive way to advertise. Several years ago I worked on several business cards for local car dealerships. Here are a few examples of design ideas. I like the colors and the dramatic angles of the photos and the shine of the chrome.
