Jones Police Department

Several officers with our department and surrounding communities attended de escalation training at the Eastern Oklahoma County vo tec yesterday to learn techniques to de-escalate possible situations that otherwise may become violent to better serve our community. Congratulations to those officers who successfully completed the course!

The Jones Police Department is accepting applications for a full time police officer. Applications can be picked up in person at Jones City Hall located at 110 E. Main Jones Oklahoma. Full time CLEET certification is perfered but not required.

Good morning Jones! The roads are very slick and difficult to drive on today, please be safe and cautious if you have to get out. The streets that are plowed are dangerously slick but most of the streets are not plowed yet. Leave early to keep from having to drive fast, make sure you get all ice and snow off your vehicle before you leave, and be cautious while driving. ... There is a chance of more rolling blackouts please be aware, warm up your home but if you’re using space heaters don’t leave them unattended because they could catch fire, and have your phones charged. Well as many people already know this is the coldest it has been since 1899! Whoever applied for the 7 day free trial of Alaskan weather please cancel your subscription. While power is on, if you have a heat lamp, turn it on and put in the water well to attempt to keep it warm enough to prevent freezing also leave hot and cold water running during the outage and that should help during freezing temperatures. OGE will be possibly be administering controlled outages! Everyone ...please be prepared for the outages. Have water ready for necessities, charge your phones, have blankets, and warm up your home. During the outage Oklahoma County Dispatch will possibly be effected, you can continue calling the (405)399-2255 number or (405) 869-2501. If those phone numbers do not work then call 911 for emergencies. City hall nor dispatch can control the outages we just have to be patient and we will all get through this.

Please be aware and prepared.

Do we need to say it? It's cold and snowy. Hopefully you all are inside and warm. Frostbite sets in within 30 minutes of being out in these weather conditions. This goes for pets, as well. Keep warm and off the roads as much as possible!
