Hope everyone is doing well, we are about to get through this record breaking weather event. But unfortunately the issues for the KPWA are starting. That bein...g said a water leak has been identified at the meter in the Speedys parking lot. Customers on Marianna lane and behind Speedys will be out of water starting at 8:00am tomorrow (Thursday 2/18). This repair will probably take 5-6 hours maybe longer depending on what is identified once the concrete is removed and the lines visualized. A second leak smaller leak has been identified on Bucannan, customers north of Main Street on Bucannon will be out of water for an estimated 2-3 hours on Friday morning. Keep the KPWA staff in your thoughts and prayers the temperature is cold enough but add the water situation in it will be a couple of very cold and miserable days for them As a board member I am very grateful for their hard work.

Citizens of Kansas we are in a winter weather situation that we haven’t seen in several years, the roads are snow covered if you have to get out please be careful, make sure you let someone know where you are going and let them know when you get there, please make sure your car has plenty of gas in case you leave the roadway, carry an extra coat and blanket, and make sure your phone is fully charged , we are ...in the negative temperatures frostbite and hypothermia sets in very quickly in this situation. Please stay at home if you don’t need to be out, and I have an idea when the snow is gone we get together and go Groundhog hunting I’m blaming him for the weather we are having. Please be careful check with your neighbors and make sure your pets have a warm place to sleep, see you around town. See more

Well it didn’t thaw out much today, we still have streets in town that are extremely slick, the temperature is forecasted to get down to 21 degrees, please use extreme caution if you must go out. with the cold be sure to remember to check on your elders to see if any thing they are in need of, also your animals give them a warm place to sleep they will love you for it thank you, see you around town.
