The three main steps after exfoliation: 1.) Non- Active Targeted Serums! Now is the time to apply a serum to the skin for hydration as well as correction. You definitely do not want to use anything that has a chemical exfoliation in it like and AHA/BHA toner or serum. Maybe a very low molecular Hyaluronic Acid serum or Vitamin C. This will help heal the skin barrier and prevent any further damage to the skin. 2.) Moisturize. Moisturize. Moisturize. Exfoliation dissolves and.../or physically polishes away dead skin cells which leaves your skin fresh and vulnerable. You need to add nourishment back into the skin to calm those cells and leave your face smooth and happy! 3.) SPF. This is THE MOST IMPORTANT step in your skincare routine on a daily basis but it is even more crucial on the days you exfoliate. Esthetician’s are licensed professionals that study the condition of the skin as well as treatments for each individual. I am constantly asked my opinion on products that are not professional grade. I know a lot of people that sell cosmetics/MLMs and I love that for them. But I don’t love that for my face or my client’s face. I am very honest when my opinion is asked but I try my best to deliver my opinion in a kind and respectful way without making anyone feel bad for their ...home care regimen. I support MLMs. I sell Scensty and I am also a distributor for Young Living so I understand how they work and why people purchase locally. But I don’t support the skin care MLMs. I purchase Mary Kay eyeshadow and contour powder and lipsticks. I use Arbonne foundation ever so often when I actually put foundation on (maybe once a month? lol). I love supporting my fellow MLM friends. I have paid lots of money for my education on skin condition, disorders, allergies, barrier functions, and soooo much more. I am watching professional webinars WEEKLY. I am reading articles DAILY. I study the science of the skin. I study ingredients. I devote my life to this business and I love every second of it. Skin care is not one size fits all. You can’t purchase an entire regimen from an MLM that is targeted directly towards your skin. Everyone is different. I have never built a regimen for a client that is identical to another client... and I build regimens daily. Picking up drug store products that smell good or feel good is not healthy for your skin. I understand budget is a huge reason why people don’t purchase professional products, but what people don’t understand is that Professional products are more potent and concentrated which means a small tube of product can last months because you don’t need very much to get AMAZING results. You may see results with any non professional products, but what you don’t see is what’s happening below the outermost layer of the skin. You don’t see how all of those filler ingredients are diluting the actual ingredients that your skin needs or how your acid mantle is reacting to those fillers. If you have a reaction to a product that you purchased from an MLM, they can’t fix it. They will just throw another product at you to fix it or just say I’m sorry that’s happening and leaving your skin to suffer.
