For everyone who has ever ranted and railed each time I post a child abuse story, here is your chance to be part of the solution and help change the system! -Th...e Oklahoma State Department of Health’s Office of Child Abuse Prevention (OCAP) is asking people to fill out a quick survey to help them develop a comprehensive child abuse prevention plan. -They want to know what you think works best to protect children in your community. -They will use the survey to see what's working, where there are gaps and if there are areas of greatest need. -They want you to not only fill it out, but, also share it with others so they can also fill it out. -The deadline for filling out the online survey is Friday, September 11. -Take the survey: https://osdhcfhs.az1.qualtrics.com//fo/SV_2sk64lugflfYia1 See more

FAMILY LAW CLIENTS OR POTENTIAL CLIENTS: The Oklahoma Supreme Court has just filed a second emergency order related to COVID-19 and specifically addressing family law cases. The need for this order comes from both the Governor's Executive order and the Oklahoma State School Board's ordering of all public schools until April 6. Supreme Court Order No. 2020-26 states "For purposes of determining a person's right to custody and visitation/parenting time, the original publishe...d school schedule shall control in all instances. Custody and visitation/parenting time shall not be affected by the school's closure that arise from the COVID-19 pandemic." The order further states that nothing in the order prevents parties from altering custody and/or visitation by written agreement, if allowed by the signed judge. Written modification agreements will not be enforced unless filed. Should you require any further assistance with your visitation agreement, please know that we are still hard at work, and are more than happy to schedule a phone conference with you. Please feel free to call the office at 918-456-0618.
