As we come into spring time please be aware that all wildlife will start to have babies! Please, please, please!!! Do not move a baby from it’s nest or even if it is laying alone. If something seems wrong contact us here or a game warden or even a park ranger!
Vote for Hobart animal shelter, we need all of the help we can get!
This is a Pygmy Rattlesnake found in Broken Arrow. His little rattle is only about 4-5mm long but he is full grown and his venom packs a punch. Please keep a cl...ose eye on your dogs (and cats) this time of year when they are outside. It is best to keep them on a leash when you are out walking with them. I am treating at least one snake envenomation every day. If your animal is bit by a snake please get them to your veterinarian immediately! Please do not try to suck the venom out or place a tourniquet, just get them seen ASAP! See more
Our first rehab adventure! Lucky for these guys they will head for Oklahoma City Monday!
#LeaveYoungOnesAlone It’s the time of year when Game Wardens are inundated with phone calls about all kinds of orphaned wildlife. Most of the time the young ani...mals’ parents are unseen but nearby! Deer fawns will be hitting the ground very soon if they haven’t already. Please, Please, Please do not pick them up! We promise their mother is better at caring for them than you are! It is a fineable offense to pick Wildlife. In the rare event wildlife is truly orphaned please contact a licensed wildlife rehabber https://www.wildlifedepartment.com/law/rehabilitator-list or your local game warden. If you are keeping young Wildlife illegally it’s likely at some point you’ll get a visit from one of us. This was the case in the last picture with Game Warden Blake Pearson (Kingfisher County) last summer. The fawn was so habitualized by humans it was calmest in his lap. Animals that are habitualized are very hard if not impossible to rehab and release them into the wild where they belong. If you know of someone keeping wildlife please contact one of us so it can be properly cared for. #GameWarden
