April’s Hero WOD. Grab a partner and get after it!!! Police Officer Sean Tuder was shot and killed as he and several other officers attempted to serve an arrest warrant at an apartment complex at 1545 Leroy Steven Road at 3:00 pm. The wanted subject had local and federal warrants for several charges. During the previous week, he had faked his own abduction in order to avoid reporting to jail.... Shots were fired as officers attempted to take the man into custody and Officer Tuder was fatally wounded. The subject was taken into custody at the scene. Officer Tuder was a member of the Alabama National Guard and had served with the Mobile Police Department for three years. He had previously been recognized as Officer of the Month. He is survived by his wife, parents, brother, and other family members. Tuder For Time (with a Partner) 1 mile Run (together) 31 Push-Ups (each) Then, 20 Rounds of: 3 Deadlifts (135/95 lb) 3 Clean-and-Jerks (135/95 lb) 3 Front Squats (135/95 lb) Then, perform: 31 Push-Ups (each) 1 mile Run (together) With a running clock, partners start with a 1-mile Run together. Once both partners return from the run, move immediately to the Push-Ups (partners may complete their push-ups at the same time). When both partners are done with their Push-Ups, Partner A performs a full round of the 3 Deadlifts, Clean-and-Jerks, and Front Squats. Then Partner B performs the 2nd round. Continue in this manner until all 20 rounds are completed. Finish with another 31 Push-Ups each and another 1-mile Run together.

Today we honor those that were lost at the OKC Bombing 26 years ago. Being an Oklahoman means that even during the worst disasters possible, the citizens of Oklahoma will stand strong and not only survive, but thrive in the face of any obstacle. The Oklahoma Standard means we are responsible for helping our neighbors and acting in kindness, without hesitation or expecting anything in return. In this state, we honor victims and serve those in need of comfort and support. Man...y tornadoes, fires, and winter storms have given Oklahomans the opportunity to lift each other up during difficult times; however, no time period has been more difficult than April 19th, 1995. Oklahomans learned how to unite during one of the worst time periods of our state’s history, and the worst act of domestic terror in American history. The Oklahoma City bombing was an attack on America’s Heartland. One of the most used words to describe the people of Oklahoma during this time was resilient. A great deal was lost that day; however, what wasn’t lost was our will to survive. Oklahoma proved to be not only America’s Heartland, but the people of Oklahoma brought light to this dark day through our actions of love, care, and support; thus proving Oklahoma to be the soul of America. Koda Adventure 2021 Our goal for 2021 is to encourage our members to focus on remembering the primary reason we workout: to live a balanced and fulfilling life, full of adventures we can share with others. The #KodaAdventure Challenge is a series of 12 tasks, completed each month of 2021 that are to be done in a group setting (#community) outside of the gym.... March’s adventure was about conquering fears and climbing to new heights. April’s adventure will be about endurance and perseverance. If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together. -African Proverb APRIL’S CHALLENGE Go on a long ruck march. This could be an official Go Ruck event, a planned out route, or just a long hike with friends. Far is determined by you. It could be 5 miles, or it could be 50. Challenge yourself. In order to get credit for the month, you must make a post of yourself on social media doing said task along with TWO OTHER PEOPLE that are outside of your immediate family. You must also TAG YOUR HOME GYM AND HASHTAG #KodaAdventure Kudos for adding additional weight in the form of a vest/pack. 20/14# is the recommended weight.

This month’s Hero WOD is "Holleyman". Scale the weights and scale to hand release pushups or elevated pushups as needed, but work your ass off and push yourself while remembering along the way those like Aaron Holleyman and countless others have made the ultimate sacrifice. U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Aaron N. Holleyman, 27, of Glasgow, MS, assigned to the 1st Battalion, 5th Special Forces Group, based in Fort Campbell, KY, was killed on August 30, 2004, when his Military vehicl...e hit an improvised explosive device in Khutayiah, Iraq. He is survived by his daughters Shelby and Erin, son Zachary, parents Ross and Glenda, and siblings Kelly and Daniel. #herowodchallenge
