Friends of La Donna's! Now that I have extra time, I've been doing a lot to help my daughter, Sara. She works at Youth Services of Tulsa in the Outreach Department; where she manages 2 programs that assist homeless youth (ages 17-24) that suffer from mental health challenges. I have been putting dry soup mixes together, in hopes of giving a few of these young people something easy they can cook in their YST apartments. Unfortunately, none of them have large soup pots to cook ...in. Would anyone in the Tulsa area have any soup pots that you have lying around? Maybe you've upgraded and just haven't had gotten rid of the old yet? I would love to collect a few to pair with soup mixes for these youth. Also, Youth Services is always needing housing goods for apartments where they house homeless youth. Couches, chairs, table/chairs, coffee tables, end tables, dressers. Pots, pans, dishes, kitchenware, bakeware, etc. Full Beds (or any size), bedding, home decor, lamps, bath towels, etc. please consider donating your new or gently used items when you're ready for an upgrade!

Happy Holiday's from La Donna's! We sure miss seeing everyone during the crazy shopping season! We will always fondly remember our 15+ hour days making beautiful gift baskets and gorgeous cheese trays for your parties :)

LAST DAY SATURDAY!!!! Okay Folks - we have determined our last day! It will be tomorrow - Saturday, September 13th. We don't have much of anything left on the shelves, and there is no reason to be here beyond tomorrow.... What food doesn't sell will be donated to the Food Bank, always a worthy cause. Thank you all so much for always supporting us. I'm so thankful that those of you who could came in early and stocked up while it was available. I know you will be happy you did. In closing, I want to share with you my daughter's response when I told her I was closing... I am feeling a lot of different things right now. I am so so sad. I am sad because your store is AMAZING, and I can’t imagine buying my cheese at freaking Reasors (ew). I am sad because I know how much you love your store. I am sad because I know how much other people love your store. I am sad because you worked unbelievably hard to make this store a success. I am sad because I just love your store. Period. I want you to know that despite closing your doors; I am overwhelmingly proud of you. So, as I sit here, my sadness and my admiration turns into excitement and happiness all for very selfish reasons mind you - I am SO happy that you will be available for ME day and night, no matter what. Because it’s all about me now! - I am SO happy that you will be available for vacations, and we won’t have to schedule around the store. - I am SO happy that we will finally, after 11 years, have a Christmas worth a crap because you haven’t had time to buy us good gifts! (jk ha) - I am SO happy that you will be free to spend more time with Hope & Zach. - I am SO happy that with this, you have essentially volunteered to help me if/when Brandon and I have a baby. Sucker. - I am SO happy that DAD will get you back home with him. I know it’s been a lonely few years in that big house with you always working; and I hope you guys can really take advantage of that and go travel a bit and have some fun! - I am SO happy that you can ENJOY the Holiday season again, and take time to RELAX. I know dad has worked really hard to support you (and me for that matter), and I can thank him enough for that; but I’m really glad you were able to make this decision on your own terms.
