Good Morning! Last Night in week 2 of Bible Mom Awards we talked about Naomi. I sent home a Faith-Sharing Calendar. If it didn't make it home I would be happy to get you another one. One of the things Naomi did was share her faith in God with her daughter-in-law, Ruth. she made such an impact on Ruth's life that Ruth moved back to Bethlehem and followed God because of Naomi. God want us to share our faith in Him with other people. In this activity, you will be creating y...our own faith-sharing calendar. for the month, fill in people you can share your faith with or write in ways you can share your faith in God with someone else. Some examples of people to share your faith with: parents, siblings, friends at school, kids on the park playground, cashier at Walmart or grocery store, other sports teams you are playing against, teammates on your sports team, etc. Some examples of ways you can share your faith with others: send thank you cards to people who do things for you (like your pastor, a waitress at a restaurant, drive through workers at fast-food restaurants, postman, garbage man, etc.), give some of your lunch to a friend who doesn't have much to eat, say kind words to your brother or sister, do your chores without being told to, pray for others and tell them you are praying for them, etc. Share your faith in God with other people everyday for this month! Help others come to know God because of something you said or did.
GA’s where we learn about missions! Thanks Ms. Ann & Ms. Sue for always making this class fun!
The Role of Parents As The Primary Disciplers of Their Children. -By Tim Pollard We've all heard the command of God through Moses to parents. These familiar wor...ds found in Deuteronomy 6:4-9 encourage parents to be about the business of teaching the things of God to their children. This passage was one that was recited each day by faithful Hebrews. Today, this passage is often used to encourage parents to be the champion for their children's spiritual growth. The part that seems to be mission is the why. Why was it important for parents to teach their children the things of the Lord and recall the great and mighty deeds that God had done? A clue can be found in the Book of Psalms. Psalm 78 is a song of Asaph. The Psalms of Asaph were written by either Asaph, a temple leader under David's reign, or any number of temple leaders given a similar designation. This Psalm reviews the history of Israel's walk with God and sheds light on the importance of parents being responsible for teaching their children about the things of God. In the first eight verses of this Psalm, the writer illuminates the why behind the command. In one of my favorite verses in all of Scripture, Psalm 78:6 tells us that we are teaching our children, so not just our children, but a future generation--children yet to be born--might know. God's command to parents to be the spiritual teachers of their children is not just to benefit the current generation, but to influence a generation that is yet to be born. By discipling our children, we also pass on the teachings of God's wonderful works to the generation beyond. God's Word is full of the mighty deeds that God has done. We as parents can pass on that knowledge, not just to our children, but to our children's children and beyond. I loved this article and wanted to share it with you this morning. I encourage you to help your kids dig deep into scripture. I pray that Lakeside Kids will grow in knowledge and be able to share the hope they have. Please continue to work on the Books of the Bible with your student at home! I love watching children use their Bibles! Have a great Tuesday! Love You! Ms. Lisa

Family Service Project--Week 2 Bread Baking One of the things Ruth did after she went back to Bethlehem with Naomi was collected grain in the fields. Naomi and Ruth then used the grain to make things like bread.... Today you will be making some yummy bread to share with another mom you know. Below is the link for a recipe for Simple White Bread. Check out this link for the instructions. https://iambaker.net/white-bread-recipe/ Here are the ingredients you will need: . 1 cup water, lukewarm . 1 Tbsp sugar . 21/2 tsp (1 package) dry active yeast (not rapid rise) . 1 tsp salt . 2 Tbsp olive oil After you are done, wrap it up and deliver it to another mom you know that you would like to share it with.
This Wednesday we will continue with our Bible Mom Awards series. This week we will learn about Naomi! I pray you all are having a great week! Join us this Wednesday for our mid week Bible study! I want to encourage you to spend time together in God's Word as a family. Once you create this habit, your children will want to do it everyday, and they will remind you if you miss a day! These habits will hopefully form in your children a love of God's Word that will stay with them throughout their loves. You are building a foundations of God and His love into your children by spending time together in His Word. Also, continue reviewing the Books of the Bible together at home. I can't wait to see who is in the Bible 66 Book Club!
Praying for you!
Happy Weekend! Today I'm sharing a Family Service Project idea. Week one-Baby Blanket SUPPLIES NEEDED: fleece fabric, scissors, 4 safety pins... For this activity, you will be making no-sew blankets for new mothers. Visit your local fabric store and purchase 1 yard of print fleece fabric and 1 yard of solid fleece fabric. Lay the fabric out on a solid surface, making sure all ends line up. Cut a 4"X4" square out of each corner of both fabrics.. Place a safety pin at each corner to hold the 2 pieces of fabric in place. Cut 4" strips (about 1.5"wide) all around the blanket. Next, tie together the 2 pieces of each strip (tie printed fabric to solid fabric), double knotting the strips. Repeat this for all strips around the blanket. When finished, take out the 4 safety pins. Give this blanket to a mom you know who has recently had a baby. You can also give it to your local food pantry who can give to the new moms in need in your community, or even donate to a hospital's maternity ward so they can give to new moms. If you have the opportunity to do this project please share pictures with us!
Last night was week 1 in our series The Bible Mom Awards! The Protector Award went to Jochebed! Have your student tell you who she was. Activity for home... Swaddle Your Mom Supplies needed: several rolls of streamers or toilet paper.... Moses' mother swaddled him and placed him in a basket and send him down the river to protect him. For this activity you will be wrapping your mom (like Jochebed did to Moses), but you will be using streamers! Take several rolls of streamers and wrap your mother tightly (without breaking the streamers). After you have finished wrapping her, and while she is still wrapped, have all family members hug your mom at the same time (group hug!) and then have someone in your family pray over your mom, thanking God for her. Pictures please! Love, Ms. Lisa
Great night! Ask you child about our lesson! Who was Jochebed?
Tomorrow night we will begin a 4 week study learning more about mothers in the Bible. We will discover four moms from the Bible who displayed love for their children and for God. I will give you a few ideas for family service projects leading up to Mother’s Day.
Christ died for us!
See you tomorrow! Sunday school begins at 9:30!
Thank you Lakeside Kids!!! You are amazing!! - David
I love these girls!!
