I really debated on doing this post but it’s time for some education so please feel free to share. The pictures below are not for bashing, bad mouthing others or anything other than to show a contrast. Here’s a few facts everyone considering eyelash extensions should know: 1. Make sure the lash artist is a licensed esthetician or cosmetologist. ... 2. A license does not mean they were properly trained in eyelash extensions or have been educated to work next to such an important part of your body like your eyeballs. 3. You pay for what you get. If you are shopping around and find someone who offers a cheap full set of lashes know this: quality glue, quality lashes, other miscellaneous supplies and sanitation supplies, and a clean safe environment are NOT cheap. Part of your full set is to offset that overhead. 4. Your lashes should NEVER HURT . Proper application means you do not feel the extensions. This means you have the right weight, length, quantity of glue applied to the extension, the extension is not touching your eyelid, and none of your lashes are glued together hindering growth. 5. A full set of lashes takes 1.5-2 hours, and fills take 45-60 minutes. Each eye has anywhere from 90-150 lashes. If your full set is under an hour and a fill is taking 20 minutes please sit down and do the math on how it’s physically possible for someone to properly isolate your lashes in that amount of time.. 6. If your eyelash artist is not properly educating you on cleaning and caring for your lashes it is only harming you, and your eyeballs. Your lashes need to be cleaned regularly to remove dirt, oil, dead skin, pollen, makeup, etc. Lashes that continually go uncleaned can lead to the horror stories you hear about eye mites, styes, and infections. 7. Good lash artists are booked out. We appreciate the referrals but we don’t have same day openings, sometimes even same week or same month openings. The clients we have know our quality of work and know our openings are slim so they book out a designated time for up to a year at a time. Please take time to do your research. Ask questions, come by and see our work area, and ask to see examples of our work. Keep in mind pictures CAN be deceiving but referrals from those who actually have our work on their eyes is not.
