Latimer County Democrats--This Saturday, April 6th, 2019, at 10:00 am, Kalyn Free and her husband will be hosting Latimer County Precinct Meetings and County Convention at their home in Red Oak, OK. Their house is across the street (Main Street) from the Red Oak School. Lunch will be provided and all ladies attending are asked to bring a dessert. Kalyn has even hinted at a special guest stopping by. Two years ago Former Governor David Walters and his wife showed up so it coul...d be anyone. County Precinct Officer Elections will be first followed by the County Convention and County Officer Elections and then lunch. We hope to see all our fellow democrats on Saturday and we encourage anyway who would like to step up and throw their hats in the ring for officers at the Precinct and County level will do so. We look forward to seeing everyone there. If my Democrat buddies would share this post to their page I would greatly appreciate it. Facebook wont let us boost the event so if we can just share it then hopefully everyone will be reminded and we may even get some new folks at the meeting

All Latimer county friends, please join us at this event. Even if you have never been active in the Democratic Party, you are most welcome. Steve will be serving his world famous Goldie’s burgers and a surprise mystery guest is rumored to crash the party!

Concerned citizens of Haskell, LeFlore,Latimer and Pittsburg Counties 10-25-18 It is now time for the voters, you and me, to connect the dots and draw a blueprint for a brighter future for Oklahoma. We've all heard too much useless talk when solutions for the immediate demands of this state are needed. Can you connect the dots? Do you realize that the Republican party is largely responsible for the Wilburton Hospital closing? The Governor refused the Medicare Expansion and the... Legislators refused to fight for the people. Connect the dots! Can you connect the dots? Our two year colleges, Eastern Oklahoma State College, Carl Albert State College and Connors State College are all hanging on by a thread, because the Republican Majority at the Capitol has all but eliminated education funding at all levels. Connect the dots! ( In 2019, education funding will be $145 million less than FY 2009 while K-12 enrollment has increased over 50,000 students. Higher Ed gets less publicity but has suffered drastic budget cuts resulting in higher tuition, higher fees and suspended programs.) Can you connect the dots? All state agencies are barely existing because the Republican Majority refuses to manage the state budget and they give away half of their budget in tax cuts and benefits, before they begin to pay their bills. We all suffer because of their refusal to govern. Connect the dots! (FY 2019 State Budget $7.5 billion. Of 69 appropriated agencies, 39 will remain 20% or more below their FY2009 appropriations.) Can you connect the dots? Legislators are elected and paid a salary to do a job for the people. When they refuse to do that, they should be fired. State Questions are an example: Legislators lack the courage to make decisions on issues that are important to Oklahoma. When the people have voiced their choice through past state questions, legislators have, at times, overturned those decisions. Connect the dots: we don't need legislators who do not respect the voice of the people and refuse to do their job. (All five of the upcoming state questions and the pros and cons of each are found at OKPolicy.org) Some candidates seeking elected office today declare that state agencies should be more efficient, but state agencies have tightened their belts to the point that they can barely do their jobs for the people of Oklahoma. These same candidates are uninformed about the needs of the people. A state that refuses medical coverage (SoonerCare) for its people or doesn't educate its young people or invest in future economic prosperity is a failed state. We all suffer when we refuse to help those less fortunate than ourselves. The people can design a brighter future for Oklahoma in the voting booth, November 6! Vote, the future of your children depends on it! Les Brelsford
