More than 70 years ago, Navajo code talkers created an unbreakable code that allowed Marines to pass sensitive information that could not be decrypted by the enemy. Every location offers Marines an opportunity to train under new conditions and become better prepared to win in any combat environment. For the Marines with Combat Assault Company, 3rd Marine Regiment, the area around Marine Corps Base Hawaii provided unique conditions for a long range swim training exercise earlier this month. At the Chosin Reservoir, Marines were surrounded and outnumbered 8-to-1 by the Chinese army. The worst weather in 50 years cut off air support and assaulted the Marines with snow, wind and temperatures of -40 degrees F. In spite of these obstacles, the Chosin Few were determined to prevail.
