This fabulous quote from Michelle Obama reminds us that we can take ownership of our voice. We do not have to sit back and watch decisions be made for us. WE get to make those decisions. As a woman, this is something I have to constantly remind myself of every day; That I am unique, powerful, and deserve to be seen and heard.

Happy National Board Game Day! I may be a little biased, but my favorite board game is definitely Ms. Monopoly. What is so different than the original Monopoly you may ask? Well in this iteration, women players start off the game with more money and collect a higher payout when passing go! Each board space is an invention made by a woman and the former utilities are now "Spread-Spectrum Radio" and "Solar Heating" which are both invented by women as well!... This game shifts the narrative so women and young girls are shown what it is like to have the privileges that men do every day! Such a small statement, but such a HUGE impact. Katherine Johnson was an American mathematician whose calculations of orbital mechanics as a NASA employee were critical to the success of the first and subsequent U.S. crewed spaceflights. Along with her gifted knowledge that helped our nation reach space, Katherine Johnson made mountainous moves for women and for Black Americans. She fought countless days through open discrimination based solely on the fact that she was a Black... woman. Her perseverance brings us so much inspiration and motivation and reminds us that no matter how many roadblocks are placed in our way, it is imperative that we keep moving forward for women today and for the women of our future.
