Today is Donate Life Living Donor Day and we are celebrating living organ and tissue donors for saving and healing lives! In 2020, more than 5,700 people made the decision to give one of their kidneys or a part of their liver to someone waiting for a second chance at life. Others gave the healing gift of birth tissuebirth tissue includes tissues such as placenta and amniotic membrane. Grafts derived from birth tissue promote natural wound healing. Thank you to all living donors for your remarkable generosity! #DonateLife #LivingDonorDay Learn more about living donation at DonateLife.net.

This Donate Life Month, we are taking a moment to reflect on those who have been an example of our theme this year, Shining Light and Giving Hope. This past year has allowed us to have seen firsthand the kindness, compassion and resilience of the donation and transplantation community. Remarkable friends, like you, have stepped up at a time when it has been needed mostto shine light and to give hope. We want to invite you to join us as we continue to raise funds for the L...ifeShare Foundation. When you contribute to our Foundation, you help fulfill our commitment to public awareness about donation, support for those impacted by donation and transplantation and research. Every dollar you contribute brings us one step closer to providing the greatest gift of all... the gift of life. Help us make an impact by giving today: lifeshareokfoundation.org/shinelight

April is National Donate Life Month, an awareness event designed to encourage Americans to register as organ, eye and tissue donors. It is also a time set aside... to honor those who have saved lives through the gift of organ donation. The Nazih Zuhdi Transplant Institute at INTEGRIS Baptist Medical Center and LifeShare of Oklahoma are hosting a special flag raising ceremony to acknowledge the importance and growing need for transplantation. Pinwheels will be on display as another powerful visual. Each one will represent someone currently on the transplant waiting list at INTEGRIS Health or a donor who gave the ultimate gift of life.
