Farm life at its finest! While we hot tub the turkeys come for a visit. We have the most co-dependent turkeys that ever lived! They sit at the back door or follow us around everywhere. Cheers to the New Year turkeys #lighthorsefarmsandorchards #turkeys #lewisandclarkette

We can’t believe Christmas is a few days away! Last year during COVID it took us back to the roots of an old fashioned Christmas. We made baskets full of homemade jam, cookies, and bread so families could set around taste testing and enjoy each others company! We also added in farm fresh eggs and home grown beef from our pastures! So we decided to keep on with the traditionThis year our cookies were inspired by @bettycrocker 1963 cooky book. Our kids make the kitchen messy but baking together makes the best memories! Plus they are the cutest little Christmas elves you ever did see delivering baskets#lighthorsefarmsandorchards #christmas #bettycrocker #cookies #oldfashionedchristmas

Y’all this letter is too good not to share. Yesterday elfie was climbing an elf rock wall and our cousin Cameron Morgan touched the elf because he thought he might fall. I wish you could have seen the look on the kids face, they gasped and said you can’t touch him. So CamCam wrote a letter of apology to Jolly. It’s the funniest and best apology letter I have ever read. Good news is Jolly the elf only has to quarantine for 1 day since he was touched by human hands. As June says PHEW! Today he gets to adventure with the kids in his quarantine jar. #lighthorsefarmsandorchards #jollytheelf

Lewis and Clarkette the turkeys made their way from the pasture to our back porch today! Not only did they stare at us through the glass door all day but Clarkette laid her very first egg! Hoping she lays more so we can incubate the eggs#lighthorsefarmsandorchards #turkeys #lewisaneclarkette #oklahoma #freerangeturkeys

We spent the last few days in Chicago celebrating my baby cousin graduating from boot camp! I can’t tell you how proud I am of the God fearing man he is! I don’t know if I will ever not see him as a kid with his sweet smile For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Matthew 6:21 NIV

Welcoming in 2021 early because we have a bunch of early risers around here! 2020 was a year of unknowns, a year of unchartered waters, but GOD was so good! We laughed, we cried, we planted flowers, started an orchard, added more sheep to our flock, added new genetics to our Dexter herd, added anatolians to the farm, spent every chance we got outside, planted a garden, and so much more. Here’s to 2021 Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him. Fear the Lord, you his holy people, for those who fear him lack nothing. The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing. Psalms 34:8-10 NIV

There’s nothing more important on a farm than a livestock guardian dog. We have a mixture of LGD’s because our Great Pyrenees like to wander whereas our Anatolians and Komondors stay close to the house. Hoot currently is in charge of watching the sheep. He keeps the predators away, watches every truck that passes, no other dogs comes near our fences and he is amazing with the kids! #lighthorsefarmsandorchards #lgd #livestockguardiandog #sheep #hairsheep #katahdin
